Bachelor's Degrees in English in Slovenia: Programmes, Fees and Admission
Fee figures: catalogue of 6 October 2026.
Slovenia is a Slovenian-language system, and English-taught first-cycle programmes are a small part of it. In our catalogue, 12 of 302 programmes are taught in English as well as Slovenian. They are concentrated at the University of Primorska on the coast, with one business programme in Ljubljana. If you want a degree entirely in English, check each programme before you commit.
Where the English-taught programmes are
| University or institution | City | Fields |
|---|---|---|
| University of Primorska | Koper | Anthropology; Cultural heritage; Management; Bioinformatics; Mathematics; Mathematics and computer science; Computer science and informatics |
| University of Primorska | Izola | Innovation in wood for sustainable development |
| University of Primorska | Portorož | Management of tourism enterprises |
| University of Ljubljana | Ljubljana | University programme in business and economics (Faculty of Economics and Business) |
| University of Nova Gorica | Ajdovščina | Physics and astrophysics |
| School of Advanced Social Studies | Ljubljana | Media and journalism (private) |
All twelve last three years and carry 180 ECTS credits. See the full list in the English-taught programmes in Slovenia.
The pages of the programmes say that courses are available in Slovenian and in English. The University of Primorska's computer science programme lists Slovenian and English as languages of delivery, and the University of Nova Gorica says "courses are available in Slovene and English". The University of Ljubljana's page for the business programme mentions an English-taught version with an English requirement. Ask the faculty how much of the programme is taught in English in your intake.
Check the places for foreigners
Our catalogue notes that the English version of the University of Ljubljana's business programme is available only in the application periods for non-EU citizens. At Nova Gorica, the physics page listed zero places for non-EU citizens in its last round, which shows why you should check the places table for foreigners rather than assume the programme is open to you.
The University of Maribor runs separate application windows for English-taught programmes for non-EU citizens in 2026/27, and you may apply either in the general non-EU window or in the English one, not both. Our catalogue lists no English-taught first-cycle programme at Maribor, so ask the university for its current list.
What it costs
- EU, EEA and Swiss citizens pay €0 in tuition for the full-time places in this list.
- Non-EU citizens pay from €2,850 to €3,800 a year, typically €3,150. For instance, the University of Ljubljana's price list for the Faculty of Economics and Business sets €3,400 a year for its bachelor's programmes.
- The private School of Advanced Social Studies publishes only a part-time price, so we show no full-time fee for its programme. Ask the school.

Language requirements
The English programmes ask for English at B2 of the European framework:
- The University of Ljubljana requires a certificate at B2 before enrolment.
- The University of Nova Gorica gives B2 as the general minimum level.
- The University of Primorska's computer science page names no English level, so check with the faculty.

How to apply
Applications go through eVŠ like any other programme, in the periods for your citizenship. At the University of Ljubljana, non-EU applicants applied between 18 February and 18 March 2026. If more applicants than places choose a programme first, applicants are ranked by points. You also need your school certificate recognised. See how to get into a university in Slovenia and document recognition for Slovenia.
Other options in English
If your subject is not on the list, look at studying in English in Europe. Our catalogue shows no English-taught medicine programme in Slovenia. See study medicine in Europe.
