How admission works in Luxembourg

You apply online directly to each institution; Luxembourg has no national admission exam or portal. The University of Luxembourg requires a secondary school-leaving diploma (foreign diplomas, the IB and A-levels need an equivalence from the Luxembourg Ministry of Education) and proof of the required level in every teaching language of the programme; it selects on the application file, and some programmes such as law and medicine have limited places. For the 2027/28 intake applications open on 1 February 2027; in 2026 non-EU applicants without a Luxembourg residence permit had to apply by 24 March, while EU applicants had programme deadlines between late April and mid-July. The private institutions LUNEX and the Luxembourg School of Business admit students through their own tests or interviews.
