How admission works in Slovakia

You apply to each programme separately; from September 2026 applications go through the Ministry of Education's central electronic application system (linked from portalvs.sk). The basic requirement is a complete secondary education with a school-leaving exam; a foreign secondary diploma must be recognised by a Slovak regional school office (Czech diplomas count automatically), and you can be admitted on condition that you show it by enrolment day. Each faculty sets its own selection — an entrance exam, or admission on school or maturita results — and there are no national cut-off scores. For the 2027/28 intake most deadlines fall between the end of February and the end of April 2027, while art schools close in November–December 2026. More in the guide Study in Slovakia.
