How admission works in San Marino
You apply online through the university's student portal (esse3); San Marino has one university, the University of the Republic of San Marino, and several of its bachelor's programmes are run jointly with the universities of Bologna, Modena and Reggio Emilia or Parma. You need a secondary school diploma; a foreign diploma must come from at least 12 years of schooling and be accompanied by a translation, legalisation and declaration of value. Design (120 places) and Communication and Digital Media (60 places) select through an admission test or interview held in several rounds between spring and September, with a €50 application fee; the engineering and surveying programmes have open access with enrolment from mid-July to 31 October (dates of the 2026 intake; the 2027 calendar is published in early 2027). Teaching is in Italian, and applicants whose native language is not Italian must show their Italian at the interview.
