How admission works in Lithuania
Lithuanian, EU and EFTA citizens (and permanent residents) apply to almost all first-cycle and integrated programmes through the joint admission system of LAMA BPO, which ranks applicants by a competitive score built mainly from state school-leaving (matura) exam results; arts programmes add an entrance exam. Applicants need a secondary-school diploma and at least three state matura exams (Lithuanian language and literature, mathematics and one more) with an average of at least 50 points for universities or 41 for colleges; a foreign diploma must be recognised by SKVC and the grades are converted. The dates for the 2027 intake are not yet approved; in 2026 the main round ran from 1 June to 23 July, followed by two additional rounds in August. Other non-EU citizens study at their own expense and apply directly to the university or college.
